Some of you have heard about, or hopefully have read the books, ‘The Case for Faith’ or ‘The Case for Christ’ by Lee Strobel. Building a ‘case’ for your biblically-based faith in Jesus is an extremely important thing to do. Obviously, this should be done with a heart of compassion and grace for people who do not yet know Christ personally. Christ-followers, remember what I Peter 3:15b – 16a says: “…if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way.” (New Living Translation)

There is no way around it – it will take an investment of your valuable time to read, study, and prepare yourself for conversations with people who are skeptical, but who often have legitimate questions. We must be able to answer intelligently and biblically when people ask us questions like:

  • How do you know you can trust the bible?

  • What evidence is there of God’s existence?

  • How can Jesus say that He is the only way to know God?

  • How can you call God ‘good’ when He allows so much evil?

These are examples of the many good and important questions that deserve answers. It’s why Paul Little wrote his two classic, concise, and easy to read books, ‘Know Why You Believe’ and ‘Know What You Believe.’ I recommend them. They’ve been on my book shelf for over 30 years, and I’ve referenced them many times.

So, here’s where my words stop, and your study and research begin. There are many good sources to read in the equipping process, but here are a couple websites I would recommend.
