Peter gives concise but important instructions to Christ-followers in I Peter 3:15. Under the Holy Spirit’s direction he writes, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” (NIV)

How are you doing at ‘staying sharp’ in being prepared to respond to questions and engage in meaningful and helpful conversations about your Christian faith with the skeptics or seekers in your life?

There are many good and solidly biblical resources available. Dr. William Lane Craig is a source for material like this. Dr. Craig is an intelligent and genuine Christ-follower. He has books and videos that are excellent resources for Christ-followers – both to help fortify their own confidence in the reliability of the biblical world view and also to share with friends who may be seeking answers to life.

Click here to watch a brief video presentation by Dr. Craig, entitled: ‘The Absurdity of Life Without God.”

You may consider sharing this video with a friend or family member who claims to believe that there is no God. If so, be sure you offer to share it with them in a respectful way. If you found the video to be helpful, you could say it this way to your skeptical friend: “Would you be OK with me sharing a video with you that I found to be insightful on the topic of God’s existence? After you watch it, we could possibly talk about it a little.” This approach is in line with the verse from I Peter 3 that talks about sharing the good news message with ‘gentleness and respect.’ May the Holy Spirit lead and empower you to do so.

In Christ,

Pastor Marlo
